Demos, Bootlegs and Blogs

You can find my demos and bootlegs below and also the odd blog post. By uploading songs here I realise that no label will want to sign them, but that's fine - they're just to showcase what I like producing, which is a bit more varied than what I expect could actually be released.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy making them!

Disclaimer

I use a lot of samples and I really like making bootlegs, so where I remember or think it's important I've mentioned where the samples come from or the original song. I also put 96 kbps clips up instead of entire 320 kbps songs in cases where my sample use is more... daring shall we say.

That being said, if anyone has any problems with the demos here please contact me and I will take the offending bastard down.

I made this a while back but wasn't feeling too inspired so I let it be. One way or another it ended up as part of an ad for a glasses shop in New York. Didn't get any commission though - maybe I should start charging! Anyway, enjoy!

This was a collab with some guys from the Bitwig Discord chat, mainly Polarity and DJ Zero Action. Started off with Polarity playing around with two of my preset basses and evolved into this. Ish not half bad I would have to say!

If you use Bitwig...

I made this tune to complement my first publication since starting my PhD (you can find the code for this publication and a link to the paper here). The song name comes from a particular type of optimisation constraint called a second order conic cons...

I made this to get rep from my friends who aren't that big into Drum & Bass (should get better friends, but geography constrains me). I also do like House and Disco a lot - the more astute listener may note similarities to Right In The Socket by Shalam...

My girlfriend and I had a running joke about a bootleg I made sounding a bit like Sassy from The Big Lez Show, so I made a Kiwi (guess it should be 'Stralian?) edit of it. Kind of buggered the (already terrible) mastering of the track, but eh, it's fo...

1 2 Clap

Been wanting to make a Juke Jungle / Trappy track again for a while. This tune has some nice ideas in it, but I think I can do better. For the next attempt!

I've been working on some pretty techny / dark tunes recently and they're taking me AGES, so it was refreshing to have this tune done within a couple of hours (or at least less than 24). I'm a a big fan of the Kings of Convenience which made the making...

I made this intro for the podcast I've started which you can find here. I spent quite a lot of time on it, so I thought I'd upload it here as well.

Some moody liquid vibes. Took me a while to get this to sound the way it does since at the beginning I was throwing a lot of meolodies and chords at this song but it just didn't need them. I'm fairly happy with the way it turned out in the end, though I...

Benson

I got this jazz sample ages ago from a George Benson CD (hence the name) and I knew it was worth a tune of it's own right from the start. It took me about 6 years to finally do it justice (though I guess you could disagree there). Enjoy!

Bootleg of 'What you talking about' by Rosca featuring Ms Dynamite (if I'm not mistaken). Got a cheeky little Idris Elba sample in there which I think is banging (but just adds to the reasons why it will never get released :P).

Liquidy DnB ting. Samples the break in Mr Resident - Syncopix and also a famous disco acapella whose name escapes me right now. If you go out enough you'll hear it though (if you needed any more reasons to go to raves).

A cheeky little bootleg I made of one Paul Kalkbrenner's best tunes. I made this maybe 4 years ago, and the way I got that acapella was very hacky, so apologies for the terrible quality on that. Anyway, you don't have to listen to it do you?
